The 3 E’s of Play:
Embedding, Enhancing, & Explaining
Jovanna
Rohs
Play is a powerful way for young children to create new understandings and
to practice previous knowledge. Play, however, should not be left to chance
in the classroom. Utilizing the 3 E’s of play: Embedding, Enhancing, and Explaining,
classroom teachers can become more intentional about the play in which young
children engage. During this presentation, participants will gain strategies
for purposefully embedding play into the curriculum, enhancing the play of
young children, and documenting and explaining the importance of play to others.
