Folk Songs that Foster Brain Development
January 23, 2010

Presenter

Ellen Baranowski

Many professionals, regardless of their education or expertise, say that music is their weakest area.  You can have the best materials available, but if you aren’t comfortable in presenting them, what good are they?  This course is designed to enable the participant to understand the need for music in brain development and to feel comfortable presenting.  Traditional American Appalachian Folk Music and games to encourage and enable development and skills will be used.  Current research and anecdotal evidence of the impact on children’s cognition, emotional well-being and social success will be offered.
